Getting Started - Different kinds of Angel Figurines on Auction Here
by An Avid Figurine Collector, March 8, 2008
Before I talk about the kinds of figurines you can find today, I’d like to share a little bit about
my experience buying items online. I buy absolutely all my figurines online these days, because the condition that they arrive in is exactly as promised. So don’t let your worries about how alike the real thing will be compared to what’s shown in the picture(s) stop you from bidding on an item up for auction for example. Try it out - they’re so cheap at auctions that even if it isn’t as you expected it to be, you’ll only be down a few dollars, or in some cases a few cents!
Everyone has their personal Guardian Angel, do you know who yours is? If not, go to this page - Personal Guardian Angel - to find out, then look for your guardian angel amongst the figurines on auction today!
Ok, now let’s talk about the kinds of Angel figurines that you’ll stumble upon. You’re probably familiar with Baby Angels, Antiques, Christmas Angels, Angel figurines made of crystal, glass, porcelain, wood, ceramic, etc. but did you know that you can find vintage Christmas angel figurines (Pre-1946) for example? What about Dog, Cats, Bears and Angel Fish that have wings? There are many other special types like Musical, African American, Fantasy, Mythical and Magical Angel Figures.
Ever wanted an angel that played the piano or perhaps the guitar? What about a musical box that plays heavenly music as an angel surfaces to dance for you? You can find all these and more online and they’re especially cheap at auctions, where you can buy them from other avid collectors like yourself.
You may encounter some terms along the way that you’re not familiar with, like ‘Napco Angels’ and ‘Lenox Angels’. Lenox is simply a brand, a company that makes figurines among other things. Napco angels are colorful and have a distinct look that you’ll recognize when you see them, but are hard to describe - take a look at this page to see a picture of what one looks like: Napco Angel Picture
Once you have chosen a figurine that looks appealing to you, click on it and investigate whether it is brand new, refurbished, or currently being used. Once you’re sure that you want to buy the figurine, place a bid on it and hope for the best! Good Luck!
